An upgrade that addresses wear

The original joysticks use potentiometers with contact surfaces that can wear out over time. This can cause the controller to register movements even when the stick is at rest. Hall Effect and TMR use contactless, magnetic sensing and avoid this type of wear in the sensor itself.

High sensor sensitivity

TMR

Uses Tunnel Magnetoresistance to register changes in the magnetic field. The technology has high sensitivity and is suitable for accurate reading of the joystick's position.

Proper installation and calibration mean a lot. Both technologies avoid wear on the sensor's contact surfaces. Mechanical parts can still wear, and precision also depends on the module, controller, and calibration.

Included in the service

We start by examining the stick drift and disassembling the controller. Then we perform the repair in this order:

  1. Desoldering the old joystick

    We desolder and remove the original joystick module to be replaced.

  2. Soldering the new joystick

    We mount and solder in the new Hall Effect or TMR module, according to the option you have ordered.

  3. Calibration

    Once the new joystick is soldered in place, we calibrate the centering and range of motion – Stick Center and Stick Range – using specialized software.

  4. Functional test before delivery

    After calibration, we test the controller in several games and with DriftAline.

After ordering, you will automatically receive an email with the submission address and necessary information. You order and pay for shipping to us yourself. When the work is completed, we will arrange and pay for the return shipping back to you. We automatically receive your name, address, and other necessary information from the order.

For finished products:

If you order accessories, pre-modded consoles, refurbished products, or other items that do not require submission, you don't need to do anything extra. The product will be shipped directly to you as usual, typically within 1–2 business days.

Stick drift occurs when your controller registers movement on the analog stick even when you're not touching it. This can cause the camera or character to move on its own in games.

-What is K-SILVER J13 PRO TMR?

K-SILVER J13 PRO TMR is a modern joystick technology that uses magnetic sensors instead of traditional potentiometers. This provides higher precision, better durability, and significantly reduced risk of future stick drift.

-Is TMR better than original DualSense sticks?

Yes. TMR sticks have fewer wear parts and are far more resistant to wear and tear than the original joysticks that Sony uses in DualSense controllers.

-Do you replace one or both joysticks?

You can choose to have one or both joysticks replaced. Many people choose to replace both at the same time for a consistent feel and maximum lifespan.

-Do the joysticks need to be calibrated after replacement?

Yes. We calibrate the joysticks after installation to ensure a correct center point, high precision, and optimal performance.

-Do all games work normally after the upgrade?

Yes. The controller functions like a regular DualSense controller and is fully compatible with all PS5 games and features.

-Will I lose data or settings?

No. The repair does not affect user settings, profiles, or other data.

-How long does the repair take?

Standard processing time is 1–3 business days after we receive the controller.

-What do I need to send in?

Only the controller itself. Cables, charging station, and other accessories are normally not necessary.

-Does the repair have a warranty?

Yes, we provide a 6-month warranty on the work performed and the components installed.

Important Information

The reason special controllers (Scuf Reflex, Edge, etc.) cost more is because there is a lot more work involved. The Scuf Reflex has many more solder points and fragile flex cables. For the DualSense Edge, you have to solder on an extra wire to bypass the software lock, allowing it to be calibrated.

The "Both Joysticks" option applies to both joysticks on the same controller.
