GameCube not reading discs?
When spare parts are hard to find or repairing the disc reader becomes costly, CubeODE is a practical alternative. The entire disc drive is replaced, and the console reads games from an SD card. You are therefore no longer dependent on the old laser and drive mechanism.

OPTIONAL UPGRADE · +1 199 NOK
Internal HDMI by HISPEEDIDO
A comprehensive upgrade for modern TVs: We install an internal HDMI mod that pulls the digital video signal directly from the console's video circuit.
You get a digital signal path and HDMI output in 480p or upscaled 1080p. This preserves the digital signal, unlike simple HDMI adapters that convert analog composite video.
HDMI mod and installation are included when you select this add-on. 1080p is the output resolution after upscaling the GameCube image.
What you should know before ordering
The original disc drive is removed. After installation, you launch games from an SD card; the console will no longer read physical game discs.
The modkit is ordered upon purchase. Expect some extra waiting time for the parts to arrive.

Compatibility and games from SD card
For Nintendo GameCube DOL-001 and DOL-101
CubeODE V1.2 supports both models, including PAL and NTSC consoles. It connects where the original disc drive is located.
Swiss collects games in a menu
Games are stored on a compatible SD card. Swiss provides a menu to select games and launch homebrew. CubeODE supports ISO, GCM, and DOL files, among others.
Can this solve the disc reader problem?
Yes, if the problem lies in the optical drive, CubeODE allows you to keep using the console by replacing the drive entirely. The old drive is not repaired – its function is superseded by the SD card solution. If the console has other faults as well, these must be assessed separately.
More about the HISPEEDIDO HDMI upgrade
The HDMI kit is soldered into the console and supports both DOL-001 and DOL-101. It includes an on-screen menu with options for resolution, aspect ratio, and image processing, allowing you to customize the display for your TV.
GameCube games retain their original graphics. When you choose 1080p output, the HDMI mod upscales the console's image before sending it to the TV.
